a shame to be separated, as we'd had a lot of fun together. Luckily, we chanced upon Manchester, Bradford-upon-Avon, London, Ireland and a sheepish Holland and shared a few drinks and laughs with them for the evening.

French-Canadian bloke: "You are from England, yes?" Me: "Errrr.... (pause) Yes."

These 7am starts were taking their toll on my brain. Over breakfast I struggled to even answer questions such as my country of origin. Luckily we had an easy day ahead of us as Chien (our new adopted Dad) led us back to the boat to start the journey home.

Whilst waiting on the boat we experienced a disgraceful event which caused mass culture shock among us. Natalie pointed out a friendly dog on the harbour she had been playing with on the boat the night before. To our dumb shock the dog was promptly strung over the railings by its lead and hung there on its choker til it asphyxiated in front of our very eyes. It was carried away - for food.
