Slightly disappointed, I shook off Rupert - nice though he was, he was a bit of a wet weekend - and retired to the hostel to meet Der Mainzer and the Irish for a drink in the hostel bar. Swapping stories, I found out the Mainz chappie was a tennis coach, and was working and travelling out here. The Irish chap was here for a month and looking to rent a camper van; cheapest he could find was 1000 bucks for four weeks. I really didn't want to go down that route; it was throwing money away, especially on my own. I retired after a pint, thinking this transport lark was harder than I thought it would be.
